In our latest For Men column, we look at a classic brand and a contemporary one: men’s fragrance classic ARAMIS celebrates 50 years, and modern classic LAB Series launches its Ageless Anti-Ageing Power V lifting cream.

ARAMIS celebrates 50 years

In 1964, Estee Lauder and her husband Joseph started the Aramis brand – basically launching the prestige grooming market for men. Now half a century later, Aramis is commemorating this landmark anniversary with Aramis Original 50th Special edition.

Aramis is sold in more than 120 countries, with over 45 products in its current collection. Trends come and go but this has grown from strength to strength with each generation and father-to-son using it in a fresh way. New fragrance launches included Aramis Gentleman and Adventurer, as well as many skincare and grooming products. The scent itself belongs to the Chypre family, characterised by a warm, woodsy-mossy background vitalised with citrus, herbs and exotic spices. Top notes of citrus (bergamot) and herbs immediately draw you into the fragrance. A warmth begins to appear as midnotes of sandalwood combine with other woods and spices to carry you along to the pinnacle signature: a leathery, mossy smouldering conclusion. We also love the incredible packaging of a leathery bound bottle in a leopard-print cardboard package.
