Thursday’s launch of We Can Create revealed the exciting lineup for the event that is to be New Zealand’s biggest art and design festival. It is being billed as New Zealand’s largest art and creative industries showcase.
Hosted by The Church – the driving force behind Semi-Permanent for the past seven years – We Can Create will bring together twelve of the world’s top art and design creatives.
Spread over two days in August 2011, at Auckland’s Aotea Centre, the event will also include a series of auxiliary events and satellite exhibitions.
Launched this week at The Church’s K Road headquarters, the new festival is directed locally, and promises a spectacular programme including local talent like filmmaker Taika Waititi and typographer Kris Sowersby, and international practitioners such as Kesselskramer and The Rumpus Room.
