Every now and then an artist inspires another artist. This happened to me when I visited Jade Townsend’s preview of her "Let Me Remind You What to Fear" exhibition at ’30 Upstairs’ in Wellington.

Jade has been undertaking a six month Artist in Residence at 30 Upstairs at 30 Courtney Place, Wellington. The preview launch was held to thank the wonderful people who have helped Jade and to open her exhibition.

Why we love Jade Townsend
– Her work combines culture, animals and spirituality
– Geometry and bright colour bursts feature in attractive large scale works – great for a large wall
– Jade is an artist who crosses mediums – as well as painting, she undertakes drawings, window installations and attractive stained glass work
– She likes Campari (as we were treated to Campari and soda at her exhibition) and is great company.

What is next for this talented artist? Jade says she would like to look at street art and art for public space. We look forward to following her work. For more information see jumpedonthebandwagonlate.wordpress.com

What is 30 Upstairs?
30 Upstairs (www.30upstairs.co.nz) is an art project gallery/space business owned by Mal Brown. Mal is really interesting to talk to, knows a lot about great art and likes to help people share ideas and art.
