Today I attended the L’Oreal Paris beauty bloggers new product drop brunch at Gusto at the Grand, known as ‘Beauties That Brunch’ and got to meet and chat to Naz, star of The Bachelor NZ! Things I liked about Naz: She is extremely pretty in person and has great brows and amazing skin; she wasn’t fussed to be in her workout gear and trainers amongst a room full of beauty bloggers wearing heels; and she didn’t say no to a single selfie and said she wasn’t over it at all but was very accommodating to everyone. I see a lot of reality TV stars be quite rude about photos but she was very patient.
Breakfast was, as always at Gusto, incredible and it was my first time trying their smoothies, which I highly recommend. Thanks L’Oreal Paris for the decadent treat and start to the day.
So, onto the actual reason for the season; the makeup product drop. Fabulous makeup artist to the fashion and TV industry and TVNZ as well as L’Oreal Paris makeup artist, Lisa Matson, showcased the new season products on beautiful 62 Models Emily Triggs.
It’s always such a pleasure to see and hear Lisa at work, she’s so funny and incredibly knowledgeable. You can check out her website at makeovermasters.co.nz for tips and tricks from the maestro herself.
So, are you ready for it? Hero products for Winter 2016 New Product Drop include…
L’Oreal Paris Nude Magique Cushion Foundation – L’Oreal Paris have released the much-awaited liquid foundation in a cushion form, Nude Magique Cushion, giving you a luminous liquid foundation that you can easily transport in your purse. It’s designed for a glowing look so is best suited for normal to dry skin rather than those with oily skin. It’s similar in concept to the Lancome miracle cushion which is $79; the L’Oreal cushion is just $33.99 and is available from April 2016.
Infallible Blush Sculpt Trio Blush – This comes in two sets of colour trios, and is their first ever ombre blush. It has dividing lines on the compact between the colours so you can choose to mix them with a swoop of your blusher brush or pick and choose each colour to accentuate the apple of your cheeks. Each blush trio retails for $31.99 from June 2016.
Sculpt by Brow Artist – This is different to your standard brow mascara that we’ve seen a few of since the Benefit Gimme Brow a few seasons back. This has a regular brow mascara as well as a felt tip applicator at the end. I haven’t seen anything like it; it’s quite different. Step one is to outline your brow shape with the felt applicator, then step two is to arrange your brow hairs with the mascara wand section below it. It retails for $21.99, available June 2016 in two shades: brunette (ok for most blondes) and dark brunette.
Supergraphic Pops Color Riche – In fashion colours with a 70s flair; these nail polish shades in Pop Corn, Cloud Wow, Pink O Pop, Green LOL, bring the bright and retail at $9.99 each.
Sculpt by False Lash Butterfly Mascara – This Sculpt product also has a different applicator for a tight-line look at the root of the eyelashes, with bristles only on one side. It gives a ‘tight lining’ effect i.e. a black line of product right up to your lash line without seeing skin at the base, and no bristles on one side of the wand means that you don’t bump the bristles into your lashes on the other side. It retails for $25.99, available June 2016, and comes Henry Ford-style in every colour you want as long as that’s black.
Color Riche Lipstick supermodel signatures – pictured is Color Riche in ‘Julianne’s Delicate Rose’; one of the new ‘La vie en rose’ signature case lipsticks from the L’Oreal Paris spokesmodels. The five lipsticks ($23.99 each) – which come in shades of pink from soft to hot – are:
22 Julianne
26 Natasha
21 Naomi
27 Eva
30 Doutzen
Infallible Fixing Mist – This clear spray is a makeup fixing mist to set your makeup and make it last, a bit like my MAC Fix + spray that you spritz over your face about 20cm away after you have finished applying makeup. Funny story – I have heard quite a few hairstylists and makeup artists say they spray a fine mist of hairspray over models’ faces to set their makeup. Apparently that really lasts! But don’t do that; get this Fixing Mist instead. It is $22.99, available June 2016.
