Editor’s Pick: I try Trinny London Stackable Make-up

In this column of Editor’s Pick I take my first look at Trinny London makeup; iconic British fashion stylist Trinny Woodhall’s makeup line that has won numerous beauty awards, and is sold online in over 65 countries, and is an Internet sensation with an audience of over 1 million followers across Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.

What is Trinny London all about?

Essentially, it’s based around the idea of being foolproof and easy to use, in a marketplace that’s overly crowded with makeup. The makeup comes in small pots which are portable so you can apply it anywhere and items are multi-tasking, so you can wear them on lips, cheeks, and eyes.

The Woman Behind the Brand

A massive part of the makeup’s success is, of course, the woman behind the brand. Trinny Woodall is really the original makeover queen and we grew up with her on TV on What Not to Wear, and The Trinny and Susannah make-over show, and everyone I know had a copy of one of her 3 million books. Her bouncy and bright personality and good humour is contagious and translates so well to her styling and makeup videos she posts daily online.

The colours look really pretty.

Customized Colours for your Face

To determine your ideal shades, you complete a customized menu online on the Trinny London website to get your ideal colour shades for eyes, cheeks, and lips. I actually loved the shades I got using the online face menu selector.

You can use the lip colours on lips or cheeks, making them very versatile, and in her videos, Trinny pops a bit of the excess colour onto her eyelids.

I liked that you can stack up different pots to take in your handbag or overnight bag, and the small size of packaging makes them very transportable and spill-proof too.

I found them very easy to use with creamy, blendable formulas. I applied the colours using fingertips and it melted to the touch.

On the downside, the packaging was a little hard to open at first. Also if you want daring colours to make a statement with, this isn’t the range for you as these are more wearable shades.

I’m wearing Trinny London in Lady J on both my cheeks as a lip creme. Love me a multi-tasker.

My first impressions of @trinnylondon makeup was excellent and I’ll use it often.
