Estee Lauder releases Enlighten EE Creme

It seems only fitting that the first ever EE cream is invented by someone with three Es in their first name. Enlighten Even Effect Skintone Corrector EE Creme by Estee Lauder is part of the new Enlighten range in response to women’s top complaint of discolouration. The EE creme is first and foremost a skintone-evening cream. The formulation is ultra-sheer and it adds a beautiful, luminous glow with colour-correcting pigments to blend out redness and give the appearance of a more even skintone. I’d use this in conjunction with a foundation if you had noticeable dark spots as it is more of a sheer coverage, lighter than a BB Cream is. It’s perfect for summer as it has SPF 30 and antioxidants that help boost sun protection and avoid hyperpigmentation.

Enlighten EE Cream retails for $83 and is on counter in New Zealand from 2nd February 2015. Pictured below: a swatch of the 01 Light shade.

Enlighten Even Skintone Correcting Creme $124

If you use the EE Creme to hydrate by day, this is the counterpart to hydrate by night, with a rich and intense moisturising cream. Estee Lauder scientists have found that nighttime is when discolouration and other hyperpigmentation from the damage gained during the day, is exacerbated. The damage – such as sun damage and pollution – causes cells to create excess pigmentation and dark spots. This night creme has a formulation of antioxidants and anti-irritants to soothe irritated skin overnight and help skin’s defence from environmental damage. Also in the Enlighten range is a Dark Spot Correcting Serum ($129).

Lighten up! I’m applying this nightly to try to even our my pigmentation from years of the pill and living in New Zealand’s harsh sun. I don’t think I’m exposed to a lot of environmental pollutants as I don’t have air con or work in an artificial office environment and I am conscious of avoiding petrol fumes and wearing sunblock everyday. I do get blotchiness and uneven skintone, so the antioxidants in this creme will hopefully put paid to that, plus it feels rich and hydrating and my skin laps it up.
