So what can a girl do to get maximum effect? Here are 5 simple tips to prepare your hair for perfection.
1. Get It Cut Early
Many brides make the mistake of getting their hair cut for the big day too close to the actual wedding day. The result could be catastrophic. If the haircut isn’t everything you dreamed of but the wedding is a week or less away, there is not chance to get the style you wanted back. Experts recommend getting it cut 3-4 weeks before the wedding. If there is a problem with the cut, there is time to work it out before the big day.
2. Start a Treatment
The treatment doesn’t have to be extensive. In fact, there are some great hair care products on the market that can add shine to your hair. For example, Wen is a 5-in-1 hair treatment that does all of the following:
• Shampoos
• Conditions
• Deep Conditions
• Detangles
• Adds shine
The product isn’t for everyone. If you have thin or fine hair, there are better treatments for you. For people with curly/wavy, dry, or thick hair, it is worth the investment. No matter what treatment you choose, make sure you start 3-4 weeks before the wedding for maximum results.
3. Touch-up Hair Colour
If you use colour in your hair, or plan to use it for the wedding, make sure you touch-up the roots in advance. If you are going for full colour, try the colours on for size 3-4 weeks before the wedding. If there is a problem with the colour it will give you time to redo the do before the big day. If you are doing root touch-up, check the roots at least two days before the wedding to make sure the roots aren’t showing through. On the wedding day there will be so much going on that this critical check could easily be forgotten.
4. Choose Your Styles
A lot of women are on top of this task; however, few women consider what hair will be best for the dress. A hairstyle is best served if it fits the theme of the wedding and the dress the bride is wearing. Take a look at some great styles online for ideas. WeddingWire.com has a large library of photo styles for a variety of themes and dresses.
And don’t forget the bridesmaids as well! Find multiple styles that you like for yourself and your bridesmaids to help find the best fit for your needs.

5. Try It On For Style
This is a critical mistake for most brides. They find a style they like and wait until the wedding day to use the do. It is advisable to test out two or three styles for the wedding a few weeks before the big day. That style you loved may not look as good on you as you hoped, or it may not match with your dress. By trying it on for style, you will find the best do for the day before walking down the aisle. Don’t let this important detail go unprepared. By preparing your hair for the big wedding day, you will have a beautiful look that everyone is sure to remember and that your photos will capture for a lifetime.
