Here at Thread we love supporting women, especially when we hear about women who are making a positive difference in the world. One such creative New Zealand designer with a heart for helping women in Cambodia through the industry she knows well – fashion – is Camille Howie. Here’s an exciting collaboration project that Camille has been working on: ReCreate Store.co.nz
Tell us about ReCreate Store.
“Together with three other women, I’m launching ReCreate Store. ReCreate Store is a charity based brand that provides quality, design-focused products that are ethically made” says Camille Howie.
Who will ReCreate Store assist?
“Since October last year we have partnered with a community in Cambodia, employing five local women.”
What do you do there?
“We have established a sewing centre that offers training and fair employment, with profits from the brand going back into the community.”
What products do you make?
“For ReCreate I’ve designed an organic cotton range of everyday luxury basics.
