Blu Colla Lovers: Salasai AW10 launch

Kirsha-Marie Whitcher arrived an hour late due to ‘car troubles’ for her label Salasai’s AW10 launch on Thursday 25th March at Little Black Crown in St Kevin’s Arcade with a collection of knits and velvets entitled Blu Colla Lovers. Nita Prekazi was there to see the new winter collection.

Since its inception in 2006 Salasai has quickly gained recognition from the fashion industry as one of the top fashion players in the New Zealand industry.

With cool sophistication the new AW10 Salasai collection is a must-have, inspired by 60’s pop culture collage of all sorts, and dictated by shapes and silhouettes that define the strength of a woman. Colour is very important, especially the bold deep colours of this season’s range, adding a nice touch of luxury.

Knit in blue and red, one of the many beautiful knits from the collection.

The range has a unique approach to this season’s key trends, with knits and velvet pieces. The great chunky knits come in a range of beautiful deep tones, complemented nicely with pieces in lighter muted tones of creams and taupes. The knits add texture and luxury to the soft draping look of the silks and velvet pieces in the collection. The Crush Dress is a great signature piece for this season in a deep blue ($420) available from the Little Black Crown in St Kevin’s Arcade.

Beautiful muted tones from the collection, knits, lace tops and draped pieces that can be worn as tops or teamed with jeans and tights.
