Bonnie. be good, the Winter 2011 capsule collection from young New Zealand designer, Katie-maree Cole, is influenced by the classic film ‘Bonnie and Clyde’ and Bonnie’s unique ability to look fashionable and spotless no matter what the circumstances.
Katie-maree Cole is a New Zealand designer who uses natural fabrics in design to emphasise femininity, adventure and romance.
Her designs have been described by media, fashion lovers and bloggers around the world as being “Divine, magical and whimsical."
Katie-maree Cole has had great success after the launch of her first directional range for Summer 2010 alongside the launch of her website www.katiemareecole.com.
The label continues to grow a wide audience of women who love the fun of day-to-day dressing.
"I absolutely loved the character ‘Bonnie’, she completely fascinated me – on one side she just wanted to settle down with Clyde but then she was into this crazy bank robbing business, it was interesting to play with that and to draw it out in my designs. I think it shows in the designs in the way that they are quite classic but still have a bit of a sexy appeal" says Katie-maree.

The label was recently selected to show at iD Dunedin alongside high profile New Zealand labels such as Nom*D and Carlson. The shows took place on the platform of the Dunedin Railway Station, famous for the 110m-long catwalk and was the finale of a series of exciting fashion events planned throughout iD Dunedin Fashion Week.
"It was amazing to be a part of iD Dunedin recently. After helping out as a student, it felt like a real achievement to now be on the runway as a designer" Katie-maree says.
