Trelise Cooper opened her latest door, The Co-Op Collective, stocking her youthful label COOP as well as up-and-coming labels. We attended the launch party and catwalk show on Friday 9th August in the industrial concrete interior with cool hanging light fixtures, at 8 Northcroft Street Takapuna.
The Co-Op Collective is directly adjacent to The Department Store which houses Karen Walker, Stephen Marr, TopShop, Nature Baby, Black Box, Simon James, Lucy & The Powder Room amongst others, so it is a savvy move to create a fashionable destination in Takapuna for shoppers.
It’s called "The CO-OP Collective" for two reasons- it’s a pun on COOP with a hyphen making it a co-operative and it’s a collective of labels that they are editing to bring together from Australian and local New Zealand brands.
Below: Photos from CO-OP’s launch party catwalk show of the COOP Spring 2014 collection. It is a colourful and fun collection with original fabric designs created in-house by their graphic designer Julia with digital prints inspired by "Ang Lee’s Life of Pi and the youthful rebellion reminiscent of Glastonbury and Coachella festivals."
