Designer Profile: THPRKS

“THPRKS is a clothing company / artist outlet, combining clothing, sculpture, art, graphic design and controversial slogans” says its anonymous designer.

We profile New Zealand artist and the designer behind THPRKS and this incredible series of photographs, entitled ‘Venus flytrap.’

“THPRKS is a clothing company / artist outlet, combining clothing, sculpture, art, graphic design and controversial slogans” says its artist/designer.

“I started making these items because they are not in the current marketplace. The way I saw things, I wanted them to be different; I wanted them to make a statement about the person.”

THPRKS’ first collection, including handmade jewellery, will be available in 2014, and only a selected number of items will be made so you are assured a limited edition piece.

“I would describe THPRKS as a creative outlet for anyone wanting to express themselves in a controversial way. THPRKS is a club for failures; people willing to try something new without consequence”.

He told Thread he started with street art at a young age, and wanted to take it a lot further as he “could not quite get exactly what I saw in my mind onto paper or walls.” He started self teaching himself Photoshop and other tools to create art “sometimes controversial and provocative.”

His next step was to begin his own clothing label named THPRKS; half clothing, half digital design. Check out his online portfolio at http://www.behance.net/Thprks and THPRKS on Facebook.
