The New Zealand Fashion Museum presents: The Age of Aquarius: A 70s Revolution
14 September – 13 October 2013 10-5pm Monday to Saturday. Koha (donation) entry. Ground Floor, Geyser Building, 100 Parnell Road
The New Zealand Fashion Museum’s Age of Aquarius: A 70s Revolution exhibition captures the individuality the 1970’s, where freedom was the status quo. Expect to see a lithe and languid silhouette clad in an abundance of colour and print regardless of gender, and clothes that expressed your individuality. Think peace symbols, ankhs and love beads, psychedelic prints, ethnic embroideries, hair, lots of it and the ubiquitous bell bottom trousers for men and women and you have a brief style summation of the era. www.fashionmuseum.org.nz
10 year Retrospective – Kathryn Wilson

Open: 10:00am – 5:00pm, Monday – Friday (weekend appointments available on request) Cost: Free
This year, Kathryn Wilson celebrates her ten year anniversary in business. Since 2003, Kathryn has carved out a path for herself as New Zealand’s premier footwear designer. The exhibition will comprise ten installations, each one representing a year in Kathryn’s business history. Each installation is a celebration of the people who have helped Kathryn make it this far, mixed with the cultural context of the time that has shaped Kathryn’s brand.
Kathryn Wilson says: "We want to celebrate ten years in business – for any company, it’s a big achievement. But our nature isn’t to look back and dwell on past successes, but rather to raise a glass to the amazing people who have helped us along the way, and of course to look forward to another ten years of even greater success and bolder ideas."
