With giant golden bears and a candy bar, the Gucci store in downtown Auckland welcomed guests to celebrate the launch of its Gucci Children’s Collection on Saturday 13 August.
There was nary a tantrum in sight as well-shod tots ate to their heart’s delight from the sweets jars, mini milkshake bottles and fish finger cups while being entertained by a magician creating balloon animals for an appreciative audience.
Celebrity mums, VIP customers and guests brought their kids along to see the children’s collection which joins men’s and women’s wear at the Queen Street store.
For those women who ascertain that being in Gucci is like being a kid in a candy shop, it literally came true on Saturday.
And is a lovely touch, guests who had their photo taken at the door with the giant teddybear, got to take a family photo home in a white Gucci frame.
The baby (0 to 2 years) and children’s collection (2 to 8 years) are inspired by the English countryside, with the signature equestrian flair the Italian designer label is known for. This is seen in riding boots, jackets, and duffel coats and a cashmere coat for little girls with horsebit detailing.

What a fun party for the littlies!

Shoe shopping can’t start early enough.
