R&G concept store launch and Face of R&G

Last night was the opening of the new R&G concept store on High Street in central Auckland including the announcement of the Face of R&G model search.

In what was the old Deshlers Bar, the new concept store has been redeveloped to suit the Rodd and Gunn aesthetic. Lovely wooden floor boards, rough brick walls, pool table and leather chairs make up the space whilst keeping the original bar which will be used as the retail counter.

The R&G label is an extension to the Rodd & Gunn brand and is aimed at a younger, trend-driven audience.

As part of their advertising campaign, a model search was undertaken in New Zealand throughout May with the finalist announced last night. ‘Rugged’ and ‘real’ were the key attributes in picking the face (in this case faces) of the brand.

A big congratulations to Alistair Boyd, Krystian Heath, Rosie Herdman and Kitty Riddell who will be flying to beautiful Turkey for the summer campaign shoot with photographer Derek Henderson.

On asking the winners why they entered Kitty Riddell said “I’ve only be as far as the Gold Coast so it was about the opportunity to travel to Europe”.

Rosie Herdman had worked on a previous campaign for Rodd & Gunn and enjoyed her past experience with the team.

Both Alistair and Krystian have been modelling already, and winning this competition will definitely put them in good stead.
