The Pop-up Globe Shakespeare Company is delighted to announce it’s returning to the stage with two productions this February – ROMEO & JULIET and TWELFTH NIGHT – at Sky City Theatre, Auckland. The announcement follows overwhelming demand for the recent sold-out season of TWELFTH NIGHT at Q Theatre and represents another step for the Pop-up Globe Shakespeare Company on the road to recovery. A highly anticipated international exhibition profiling the work of couture designer Guo Pei opens next month at Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki.
Guo Pei: Fashion, Art, Fantasy 郭培:时装之幻梦 opens Saturday 9 December with a weekend of special events. Tickets are on sale now at aucklandartgallery.com/guopei. Be transported from the fashion runway into the Gallery to encounter more than 60 of Guo Pei’s creations up close. The exhibition, which is exclusive to Auckland Art Gallery, presents the designer’s most innovative and captivating pieces created between 2005 to 2020. In celebration of imagination and storytelling, Boh Runga Design has released ‘The Lotus and The Snowbird’ illustrated storybook. Boh continues to evolve her career – from music to jewellery, evolving into a lifestyle brand, and now becoming an author. Coinciding with the book release, Boh Runga Design is introducing a range of “charming” new additions to the best-selling Lotus Collection, and the second release in the Bohboh baby range with a unisex print inspired by stylised versions of each Lotus design.
The Snowbird Little Wing symbolises adventure and an unbound spirit. It reflects Snowbird’s passion for travel, his love for Earth’s inhabitants, and his delight in discovery. The Lotus Little Flower is a symbol of renewal and growth, representing Lotus’ blossoming curiosity for the World’s magic and its abundant gifts.
For the first time, Boh Runga Design has released children’s jewellery, featuring the Lotus designs in a ‘Beadiful Collection’. The charms are available on handmade beaded necklaces and bracelets in a range of colours inspired by The Lotus and The Snowbird book illustrations.
The second release in the Bohboh baby range – Boh Runga Design has released a unisex print featuring stylised versions of each Lotus design: The Wing, The Lotus and The Lotus Flower. Each design will be available on a fitted cot sheet, a muslin wrap, and a teether.
iD moves to a biennial format
The much-loved iD Dunedin show at the Dunedin Railway Station will move to a biennial format. The move to being a biennial event will give more time to plan and secure funding, as well as market and communicate all the activities. The next hallmark iD Dunedin Fashion Show at the Dunedin Railway Station will take place on Friday 4th and Saturday 5th April 2025.
