Always a structural and interestingly-cut brand, Wellington label Kowtow takes inspiration from famous Japanese architect Tadao Ando for its summer 2013/14 collection.
Designer Gosia Piatek says she was inspired by the Japanese architect in designing this summer range. Tadao Ando is known for an architectural style of emphasizing nothingness and empty space to represent the beauty of simplicity. They have this love of simplicity in common.
Kowtow also produces a result that is misleadingly simple; their garments are complex in construction but effortless on the body.
They only use sustainably-produced, ethical organic cotton which they source from India.
Thread had the chance to check out the upcoming range at Ciel PR showroom. Here are some of the SS13/14 styles, on models Juliette and Cory.
