Sadly, star guest Karen Walker didn’t show as she was still in New York for NY fashion week after showing her new collection, Perfect Day. But the real stars were the nail technicians and hair stylists at Stephen Marr who worked their magic.

The first 80 guests got a goody bag of a CLEO, makeup treats and best yet, vouchers including a one on one session with a Stephen Marr stylist for 30 minutes to learn how to do anything you’ve always been curious about. I think I’ll use mine for a ghd curling lesson.

It’s a savvy business move in an industry where repeat custom is gold and getting clients to switch salons can be harder than getting them to leave their man. I heard a woman say she was so impressed she’s be keen to come here again and leave her Ponsonby salon.
