Danish brand Noa Noa treated a hundred guests to a showing of their Autumn 2012 collection at Kirkcaldie & Stains in Wellington on 3rd April. Stylist Samantha Hannah presented the range, using six models with varying body shapes to show the brand’s versatility.
‘Shabby chic’ never looked so good. Noa Noa has captured the essence of the modern-day woman, offering effortless elegance and femininity that can be adapted to suit individual styling. Behind the scenes, they also use sustainable business practices – meeting the needs of today’s eco-conscious shopper.
The Autumn 2012 season is highlighted with warm tones, particularly mustard and burnt orange, and focused on three themes – ‘home party’, ‘back home’ and ‘home made’. I definitely saw it in the range: gorgeous knits that evoke pictures of home, hats and scarves to accompany nights by the fire, and tailoring with the attention to detail that the home crafts lover slaves over.
But there were also a few fabulously edgy surprises thrown in the mix. My favourite of the night was an amazing pair of leather pants contrasted beautifully with a textured mustard blouse and woollen coat. The mix of biker chic and classic feminine lines really proved the brand’s diversity, offering statement pieces alongside wardrobe staples.
Host Samantha Hannah also praised the sustainable ideals of the brand. “What I love about Noa Noa is that it’s a lifestyle brand. It’s designed so that you can build on it, adding pieces season after season.”
And it would be easy to make it a staple in your closet. Noa Noa offers top-to-toe styling, from casual to corporate clothing, essential accessories like scarves, hats, and gloves, beautiful jewellery, right down to shoes and hosiery.
What I really took from the night is that Noa Noa is a brand that suits women of any shape and size, offering a modern bohemian look with amazing attention to detailing.
