Park up with Karen

As well as Karen Walker and Hi There by Karen Walker, the new Play Park shop has encompassed all of Karen’s favourite brands such as Top Shop, Julie Rofman, Steven Alan and Laurel Wreath. Coincidently these are also now my favourites…

Cue conversation:

Sam: “Hi Karen, I’m Karen…. I mean I’m Sam you know like the boys name I really don’t know what my mother was thinking when she gave me a boys name but I think it was kind of a horrific labour so don’t really blame her (at this point I start to panic) so… I was wondering if I can take a photo of you for Thread?”

I really envisioned the meeting of my master to be quite different. We would have an instant connection and she would realize how like-minded we are and then employ me to be her best friend / business partner.

After this somewhat rocky start to our budding friendship I truly did enjoy the fruits of her labour i.e. her new shop Play Park. It is actually at the Karen Walker store – they bought the store next door and knocked down the wall so her Newmarket store and Play Park are together.

We were greeted by Hunter boots in every color of the rainbow and a yummy lolly table (although my friend Mel and I were the only ones attacking the lollies – I still haven’t learnt the social norms for these events).
