We’ve heard two heads are better than one, but six combined might just be the best.

With a total of five designers – and now three jewellers – under one roof, new boutique ‘SIX’ on Ponsonby Road is a fashion destination worth checking out.

Thread was invited to take a peek inside their new home since they moved last March from Aotea Square Market and we discovered why garments have been flying out of the store.

Pieces from all five clothing labels instore – Chelsea Gale, Harriett Falvey, Hannah Morgan, Ribbon On A Bombshell and Selector- are handmade by the designers themselves. Not only are the clothes 100% New Zealand-made, they also limit production to a minimum.

Clothes here are really unique. On that note, their eye for interesting fabrics is top notch. Their garments have different personalities but despite the style differences their clothes still are perfect matches for each other.

What we loved most about what they offer is they take personalisation to a whole new level. If the piece you bought needs a little altering here and there to perfectly fit you, then they’re all for it. Also, if you missed out on a piece or fell in love with something and it’s not in your size, requests for new ones are more than welcomed granted that they still have the resources. Whole new level I tell you.

Accessories are the exclamation points every ensemble needs and they’ve got it covered too with Hugs & Kisses and Penny Foggo.
