Fall Winter 2011 – Will Shine
The colour palette of AW11 draws on ‘neo-camouflage’ hues and rainforest textures of the lush tropics in the southern hemisphere. Evoking a harmonious relationship between earth and sea, the primary palette is dominated by earthy greens in khaki, amazon, taro leaf and lichen while stormy blues are portrayed through marine, and classic indigo.
Neutral shades of stone and driftwood are emulated in pebble, cocoon and nude further evolving into feminine vintage tones with dahlia and toucan pink. Recycled whites and unbleached linens along with porcelain complete the foundations of the lighter winter palette and colours create a more sophisticated feature when adopting metallic and iridescent effects impersonating creatures of the rainforest.
Tigerlily’s ongoing commitment to researching sustainable textiles had led to the introduction of a recycled cotton jersey for clothing and a recycled nylon base-cloth for swimwear.
Cellulose fibres (plant-based) dominate for Autumn-Winter in the likes of cupro, jute, abaca and linen.
Protein fibres (animal-based) for fall-winter are in the forms of wool and fluffy angora, blended into our lavish knitwear. Luxurious lamb undergoes a vegetable tanning process using ‘tannins’ that occurs naturally in the bark and leaves instead of using harsh chemicals for our coveted leather items.
