Alice and Olivia’s designer Stacey Bendet has a distinctive signature whimsical style.

The line has mostly appealed to a younger crowd, as witnessed by the Disney ingénue star turnout for the presentation. But for Fall 2013, the fairy princesses decided to sing Lou Reed songs on the streets of Paris’s Latin Quarter. The Stila dark lips and Antonio Corral Calero, Morroccanoil Artistic Director’s textured hair showcased the eclectic collection aptly named “Fantasy Street Style”.

Large plaids, mixing of prints, chunky coats, oversized sweaters – the streets unmistakably influenced this showing. Just like Marc Jacob’s glamorizing grunge, Bendet has glamorized today’s youth fashion.

But those who don’t watch the Carrie Diaries need not dismiss Alice and Olivia.

Upon further inspection, there is lushness within the fabrics: lace and brocade, glimmer and leather. The cuts are masterful and flattering. Each piece can mix and match with an existing wardrobe. Whether it be from Glassons or Storm or Chanel; it’s street styles. Anything goes!
