The backstage for Alice and Olivia was warm in comparison to the dreary weather outside. Every hair stylist and make up artist was busy putting on final touches on the dramatic look for the show.

While the clothing was off limits to the press, Antonio Corral Calero, Morroccanoil Artistic Director, was once again accessible for the waiting writers and photographers. With a model in hand, he discussed the genesis of the hairstyle.

Working with the “rock and roll” aspect of the clothes and dramatic make up, Antonio went to the streets for inspiration. “This is what girls are wearing now” he said of the tousled up dos.

There were two main styles. One was of large braids encircling the head.

The other was a loose braid being entwined into a triangular chignon. The braids were distressed to create loose sweeping strands, like “a halo” according to the stylist.

To achieve a longer lasting tousled sexy up do, Antonio used Moroccanoil Treatment to condition and protect the hair. Then he used Moroccanoil Volumizing Mousse to help bring a natural lift and shine to the hair while blow drying it out.
