Delpozo had its debut at New York Fashion Week on Sunday. The show took place in the spacious Canoe Studio at 26th St and 11th Avenue overlooking the Hudson River. The sun streamed into the prepping area.
The Spanish influence had permeated the atmosphere. Backstage was unpretentious and vibrant. Antonio Corral Calero, Moroccanoil Artistic Director, demonstrated the chignon he created with such an infectious passion. He spoke of Spain, the Delpozo design and how he created a soft romantic chignon to contrast the organic architecture of the clothes.
He used Moroccanoil Treatment to as a protective primer. With a bit of backcombing, he parted the hair on the side and put it into a low ponytail. He then created a loose braid of which he swirled into a chignon. The front was swept to the back of which Calero likened to a “fake bob”. He used a small amount of Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray Medium to keep the volume and finished with Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine Spray.
Calero mentioned he wanted this hairstyle to be something ‘any woman can do’. The style works with any hair texture and doesn’t necessarily require any heated elements.
