Carolina Herrera AW12 backstage

When I think of Carolina Herrera, I instantly think of a classic aethestic, one that is glamourous, sophisticated, but interpreted in a contemporary manner. So, going backstage at NYFW to view the hair and makeup I was beyond-thrilled…

It goes without saying that when I found out I’d be one of the international fashion correspondents granted access to attend Carolina Herrera’s backstage press area I started prepping immediately.

Carolina Herrera is not just a fashion label, it is a firmly established and highly renowned international high fashion brand – one that delivers timeless collections year, after year, after year – always able to reinvent, and captivate the sometimes cynical fashion audience that attends the showing; the fashion insiders who have seen it all before.

When I think of Carolina Herrera, I instantly think of a classic aethestic, one that is glamourous, sophisticated, but interpreted in a contemporary manner.

So, going backstage to view the hair and makeup I was beyond-thrilled to see the direction the creative makeup and hair directors had taken – one that paid respectful tribute to this story, but exaggerated in a runway-ready manner.

I particularly adored the high 60s inspired bouffant hair; high hair is back and bigger than ever!

Moroccanoil conceptualised the hair style, and what is most incredible about their styling technique is that they only USED ONE PRODUCT. Forgive the loose use of the caps lock key, but trust me, for a beauty journalist that is incredibly exciting.

To be able to share with you that all you need is one all-in-one product that treats, protects, styles, and finishes your hairstyle – just like the models who walked the runway at Carolina Herrera – is beyond amazing.

This product is Moroccanoil’s Luminous Hairspray, and I can 100% tell you from first hand experience that I had a play with it today it does truly deliver on all its promises.

And if it’s good enough for Carolina Herrera’s New York Fashion Week A/W12 runway showing, then it is certainly good enough for me!
