The Home Bar in Auckland’s Viaduct set the scene for the SS 2010 launch of Kiwi street wear label Doosh.

The edgy new collection by designer Theresa Brady was revealed at the intimate venue on Thursday 5th August with some groovy tunes from Dean Campbell of George FM and a smattering of fashionistas and well-known faces in attendance.

The evening kicked off with some pre-show drinks followed by a runway show of some key pieces from the forty-piece spring/summer range. Bursts of colour and pattern on draped fabrics were a common thread for the women’s wear, and a very edgy yet casual look was apparent in the menswear. A great range is available and although it’s street wear, it would suit either an informal or a dressier occasion.

Doosh is no newcomer to the market, having been around for the past fifteen years. There has however been some confusion with the name ‘Doosh’ – it has required further clarification on its pronunciation; ‘Doosh rhymes with whoosh’ is now the tagline being used. The key target market for the label is 18-30 year olds, catering to both men and women, with stock in 80 stores throughout the country.

Theresa Brady leads the design as well as managing her other well-known labels Sable & Minx and Brady. Theresa finds her inspiration through travelling, graphics, photography and plenty of research. Her team of twelve working out of Kingsland continually strive to demonstrate streetwise nous through their creative designs.

So get moving and get your toosh into Doosh.
