Jacinta Lau, 21, has been crowned as the winner of the Wellington Miss India regional competition.
Alongside 10 other Kiwi Indian beauties, Jacinta has secured a place in the Auckland national finals to be held in September.
The winner from this competition will compete in the worldwide Miss India competition.
Jacinta, pictured above, has a father who is Fijian Indian and she was not expecting to do so well as she has blonde hair and blue eyes, not traditional Indian features. However the judges disagreed!
Using Wella hair products and Smashbox cosmetics, the Cathy Davys Hair and Beauty team took the Miss IndiaNZ Central competitors from weekend hair to glam catwalk polish. The competition was sponsored by a number of top agencies including Wella, Smashbox cosmetics, Cathy Davys Hair Design and Day Spa (Wakefield Street Wellington) and the Hairdressing Industry Training Organisation (HITO).

The evening competition was made up of question and answer rounds, talent, Kiwi, and ballgown rounds.
