Juliette Hogan is throwing money away.
In her fashion film, that is.
Her winter 2014 catwalk show opened with a stunning short film – one of the best quality fashion films we’ve seen, created by husband and wife team Rachel Morton and Todd Bilton – telling a story of a woman (played by Ngahuia Williams of N Models) driving off in a car to the West Coast and scattering a bag of dollar bills over the black sands. Ngahuia’s well-dressed road trip was set to beautiful music by experimental rock band Kerretta. She may have been "walking away from the wrong kind of love" but she was doing it in the right kind of wardrobe.
The film ended and the real world began- with models walking out in the AW14 line, with Ngahuia ending the runway show in the maxi red lace gown she wore in the film. Art becomes life. To a standing-room only crowd at the historic building Hopetoun Alpha in Auckland Juliette Hogan presented her Winter 2014 collection ‘Lose Yourself’ last night. Makeup complemented the more masculine (for Juliette Hogan, reknowned for her ultra-femininity) collection by M.A.C lead by Josie Wignall and hair by Lauren Gunn of Stephen Marr.
