Kate Sylvester showed her Marilyn Monroe-inspired Summer 2013/14 collection at the last of the week’s Marr Factory shows at Golden Dawn on Thursday 29th August.

A wind machine blew the models’ skirts up in homage to Marilyn Monroe. Hair was by Stephen Marr cascading from the top of the head in loose sexy waves and makeup was created by MAC Cosmetics with Dreaminess Lipstick on cheeks, temples and chin and lips with Candy Yum Yum Lipstick through the centre.

"The show of the day however goes to the incredible Kate Sylvester whose ‘The Last Sitting’ collection inspired by the life of the iconic Marilyn Monroe was very clever and oh so covetable. Taking her cue from the different elements in Marilyn’s life, right down to her different husbands’ professions, the range told the story of the bittersweet heroine in an intelligent way, for example the baseball stitching a reference to her legendary husband baseball star Joe DiMaggio.

With everything from blush silks and white linens to caramel leather on the runway, Kate Sylvester’s was a feminine, sexy and utterly delightful collection that had me wishing I could transfer every piece straight into my wardrobe."
