I could get used to this I thought, as we were whisked away in BMWs to Kathryn Wilson’s AW13 show at the BMW showroom.
Her in-season catwalk show, held on Thursday 4th April as part of Wellington Fashion Week, took place in the very cool venue that is the Wellington BMW car showroom. A long white catwalk stretched the length of the room.
Models walked in Pleasure State lingerie and leather peplum belts created by Wellingtonian stylist, Barry Betham.
The best thing about the night though was the speech from Kathryn Wilson herself. She held the audience in her hand as she recountered her personal history and her journey from winning the AMP scholarship of $5,000 to begin her business ten years ago, through to where she is today.
Following her speech, we enjoyed a fast-paced, very sexy show, with models in Pleasure State lingerie, jewellery by Dyrberg Kern and of course boots and heels by Kathryn Wilson. Hair was created by the Davines salon ‘Powder Room’ on Cuba Street in Wellington, and makeup by M.A.C.
