Models wearing summer styles from three of New Zealand’s top designers – Zambesi, Juliette Hogan and Huffer- walked around tables at Kermadec during the Fashion Show and Designer Lunch held on Friday 19th August in the run up to NZ Fashion Week.

The in-season show featuring Spring Summer 2011 collections from the three popular labels was a drawcard for a completely sold-out event at the Viaduct restaurant. It was a tough call to drag one’s eyes away from the magic harbour views to focus on anything else – but the fashion and the girls made this a lot easier than you’d think.

Guests enjoyed an Amuse bouche served with a glass of Moet & Chandon Imperial, then ciabatta with white bean dip, and an entree of tuna carpaccio, goat’s cheese ravioli, and my favourite- the tempura bluff oyster. Continuing with its famous seafood flair, the main was pan roasted snapper fillet on a crab risotto. This was all washed down with Absolut designer cocktails and wines by Brancott Estate.

Models’ make-up, by Smashbox cosmetics, featured black eye liner and peachy glowing cheeks and pale rosy lips with beautiful skin that complemented the spring fashion perfectly. Hair was swept up off faces and over to the side, keeping length in the back.

It’s not everyday one can enjoy not only three courses of food, but three courses of fashion, as well. So much deliciousness. Next time Kermadec throws a Fashion Show and Designer Lunch, I heartily recommend you book a table.
