Kirkcaldie & Stains celebrated dressing Wellington for 150 years with a catwalk show at Wellington Fashion Week featuring AW13 collections from Deryn Schmidt, Mardee, Carlson, and Hailwood.
The Kirkcaldie & Stains catwalk show, at 4pm Thursday 4th April, saw us arrive at the Odlin’s Plaza on Wellington waterfront and smile at the most gorgeous goodybags – James bears peeking out from Kirkcaldie & Stains shopping bags! They also included a calendar of historic photos from the 150 years of the iconic department store, as well as beauty samples of Balenciaga perfume and Chanel foundation. Beautiful – and they came in handy, too during fashion week.
The runway show saw four New Zealand labels showcase their current, in-season collections, so guests could leave the show and literally buy the shirt off the model’s back at the store that day.
In addition to the fabulous clothes, the hair was a real stand-out, by Sebastian Professional. The show’s Hair Director, Marie Uva, created a 60s-inspired, romantic and soft textured beehive chignon.
Here are some of the highlight’s from the show.
