TV3 cameras filmed the catwalk debut of designer Lucie Sutichunta’s label, L For Lucie, at her first ever fashion show, held at downtown Auckland restaurant, Botswana Butchery on 3rd April 2013.
The SS14 collection ‘Making Merit’ is Lucie Sutichunta’s first runway show and was filmed for the TV3 doco, ‘Both Worlds.’
L for Lucie launched in 2010 and this event showcased her label for the first time to the NZ fashion industry and media.
The Spring/Summer 2014 range drew upon the look of Thai-inspired streetwear. Selected pieces of Lucie’s label ‘L for Lucie’ are already available in store at Britomart’s Made boutique.
The lead up to and the show itself were filmed for ‘Both Worlds’, produced by Notable Pictures, in the doco series exploring the lives of second generation New Zealanders and "the challenges and benefits that come with combining their two cultural worlds." This episode of Both Worlds focused just on Lucie, who aged 16 moved with her parents from Thailand to Timaru. Lucie (pictured below) graduated from the AUT Fashion Design School in 2010 and has since been a finalist in several New Zealand fashion competitions including the iD International Emerging Design Awards and the Westpac Young Fashion Designer award.
