High St Long Lunch
NZ Fashion Festival Week
Auckland weather is a fickle mistress but we Aucklanders have learnt to deal with her.
On Friday 25th March, the pouring rain did not deter High Street fans from attending the High St Long Lunch. All they needed were their rain ponchos and fun was had.
The top half of High Street was closed to traffic and tables and tents were put up to host a 300 person long lunch.
Guests starting arriving at 12.45pm to the music of Peter Urlich. The MC for the event, David Savidan, welcomed guests after which they were served entrees, mains and dessert from Kohu Road Ice cream.
Entertainment for the day came in the form of music by Anna Hawkins and Tama Wairapa.
A highlight was fashion shows from Lonely Hearts, Zambesi and Ruby Boutique.
Even though the runway was slippery the models braved the wet catwalk and luckily no slips were seen. Models utilised umbrellas as great accessories.
Staff on the day were great, and the rain did not stop them from making sure every glass was constantly filled and everyone was happy.
There was nothing you couldn’t ask for at the High St Long Lunch; excellent service, great company, good food, awesome entertainment and very desirable clothes. Except perhaps some sunshine to have come to the party.
