New label Millicent debuted in Wellington with a very wearable collection and crowd favourite, at Wellington Fashion Week in a group show alongside Robyn Mathieson on Saturday 6th April…

Flirty and feminine, Millicent’s Spring Summer 2013/14 collection envisioned us as Italian office chica bellas sampling sorbet on a hot summers day.

The first model down the catwalk inspired thoughts of cottage gardens surrounded with sweet pea and roses. Music, like the clothing was fun, fresh and European.

The collection could be described as a flirty-yet-corporate style. High-waisted skirts in sorbet colours matched with prim neatly tucked-in shirts. Hemlines were just above the knee and thin belts accentuated waists to create a polished look.

What we loved:
• As well as the sorbet palate, the addition of coral and tangerine
• Structured corporate glam juxtaposed with romantic floral silk tops
• A hit of chartreuse rearing its head
• Capri pants – 60’s Italian style

Overall Millicent S14 range is easily able to be mixed and matched. There would be no harm in having the whole collection in your wardrobe (although your bank balance may not agree with me.)
