Natalie Chan Bridal Couture ‘Portrait of a Lady’ collection launched at Sofitel Auckland with a Champagne brunch on Thursday 29th May.
Known for her millinery, as well as race wear dresses, the Auckland-based designer and busy mother-of-two has now extended her repertoire into bridal wear. Natalie says her inspiration was Renaissance paintings and her visit to the Louvre. Gowns are available to purchase or made to measure in a bespoke service.
Over Mumm Champagne, guests brunched on savouries from newly appointed Executive Chef Nick Honeyman, previously from The Commons. Candles from MOR scented the room decorated by Natalie’s Mother’s florist, Cartier for Flowers.
The models’ bridal makeup was created by Bobbi Brown with hair by Dry & Tea. And the dresses? From a traditional start in ivory, they moved into butterscotch and softest dusky pink to finish, with the finale gown, ‘Millicent Rose’, modelled by Emily from 62 Models. Then the two women cut the cake together, created by Bluebells Cakery.
