If you ever missed out on grunge, Autumn/Winter 2012 will be your second chance.

One thing has been creeping up on London is a 90’s revival, already spotted on trendsetters revisiting 90’s sportswear, which is no doubt a little nod to the upcoming Olympics in July, too.

For winter, 90’s grunge is going to make its stamp. Canadian-born Londoner Mark Fast based his entire collection around ‘sophisticated grunge’, which I tried to picture until the models came out and it all fell into place.

Crop tops, longer-length skirts, and dark colours plus slouchy layered knitwear were given an injection of glamour by finishing the look with glittering Christian Louboutin shoes.

After seasons and seasons of short lengths (especially the ultra-short short) I’m feeling very ready for longer lengths.

I couldn’t help admire the many catwalk assistants I saw wearing longer-length black skirts, sometimes with splits up the side for a little flash of leg.
