We have just returned from Robyn Mathieson’s in-seaon AW13 show at Wellington Fashion Week, ‘Diamond in the Rough’. Two themes were evident. One being colour – Robyn’s speciality and the other the array of prints.

A recurring theme was her pairing of green and navy. Nana may have said; "blue and green should never be seen" but we saw no problems here. Navy featured in scarves, dresses and pants as a staple in this collection.

Some could say that there was too much colour – but then that works because those who wear Robyn Mathieson pieces enjoy the creativity of colour. In fact, we loved the chiffon two-toned teal and navy dress with a high back and plunging neckline with a simple necktie to complement the look.

Models were styled for the show with 1940’s fur shawls and collars, and a strong red lip, giving it a vintage theme.

We could see Robyn had fun with the collection and her many fans will too.
