The Sass and Bide show, held at an old church in Westminster, attracted the likes of model-actress Olivia Palermo, singer-songwriter and actress Pixie Lott, reality TV star Millie Mackintosh, and a few supporters from home including Australian Harper’s Bazaar Editor Christine Centenera.

‘Winter gate’, inspired by ‘a curiosity about man-made objects’ displayed maxi dresses, a-line skirts, and wide leg pants in a colour palette of black, white and canary yellow with highlights of metallics.

Minimalistic pieces still included strong structural lines and trademark embellishments, the Sass and bide signature theme carried through from season to season. I’m not so sure I could wear anything but the knit pieces to keep warm in a London winter, but luckily we will be receiving it in time for summer as part of Asia/Pacific.

Among my favourite pieces was a long sleeve maxi dress with a laser cut wave pattern revealing sheer fabric beneath.

Call me biased but the Sass and Bide collection from Heidi Middleton and Sarah-Jane Clarke was definitely a highlight of day one at London Fashion Week 2013.
