New Zealand fashion designer Trish Peng held her debut show entitled ‘A Day in New York’ at Giltrap Prestige Porsche Showroom in Auckland on Thursday 8th May to a full house.
The standing-room-only audience watched an accomplished collection of 21 eveningwear dresses walk the runway; a red carpet emblazoned in a social media-friendly manner with her Instagram name: @trishpengfashiondesigner.
Trish Peng also launched her website at the show; a custom-made dresses service where clients are posted out a small wood box containing swatches of fabric and a tape measure for their perfect gown. www.trishpeng.com
Gowns were very long – one model had to lift her dress to walk – or very short – we caught a few glimpses of knickers as models walked – but the beauty of custom-made is you can request any length you like. Colours ranged from lipstick-red to a lovely burgundy and clients may choose their own shades and fabric from swatches.
The show was hosted by Steven Fernandez Media, with models from Vanity Walk, shoes by Andrea Biani, hair by French Revolver Salon, Pocket Square, jewellery by Veronica B, seated guest gift boxes by Goodie Box, and refreshments by Red Bull, and Sapporo.
