Fast cars and models. They just go together.

And so it was on 16th November when Coutts Newmarket Mercedes Benz rolled out the red carpet for hundreds of clients and guests to see models of a vehicular nature and of the living, walking type – dressed in current summer styles.

‘Boy meets Girl for Fashion Fling’ was the cute tagline for Friday night’s Working Style & tkstore summer runway show although Boy Meets Girl Meets Cars Over lots of Drinks might be more accurate. There were more bars than a prison cell; with Moet & Chandon champagne bars, a MOA beer bar, 900 grapes wine, a Sam Snead’s House of Whiskey lounge bar, and our fave, the red rose-adorned Penfolds red wine tasting table.

The evening was ostensibly launching the Mercedes new A-Class and CLS shooting brake, straight from the Australian Motor Show, and heading back there after its New Zealand jaunt. Guests all took their iPhone pics with the Mercs and one man even sat on the bonnet before being glared at.
