WORLD presented its AW13 collection, ‘Boring Gets You Nowhere’ with show-stopping makeup by Olivia Wild and Great Gatsby-inspired hair by Michael Beel on Wednesday 3rd April.

It was, surprisingly, the first catwalk show WORLD has done in the capital, and took place as the opening show of 2013 Wellington Fashion Week in the tent on the waterfront. It really kicked the week off brilliantly and set the bar high with hair, makeup and styling done beautifully.

As per, there was incredible attention to detail, with long sparkly nails (created by Alex Frost) to match the glittery lips by Shiseido keyed by Olivia Wild.

Footwear was the same silver-studded black court Leila heel throughout, supplied by Number One Shoes – continuing their relationship using the accessibly-priced footwear brand. These aren’t a colab as with the ‘World Made Me Do It’ range they released at the WORLD Autumn Winter show at New Zealand Fashion Week 2011 (which also had the NZ Next Top Model announcement and live filming) but are available at all Number One Shoes branches nationwide as part of their regular, in-season range for $59.99.

The hair had everyone gasping in awe as models walked out, with marcel waves lacquered within an inch of their lives with gold hairspray in a contemporary recreation of 1920s looks. Creative Director of hair Michael Beel of Buoy salon worked with Derek Elvy and the team of Buoy, supported by ghd.

The show was in-season so is available right now at all their stores, including 98 Victoria Street Wellington.
