We attended the NZ Fashion Festival seminar, M.A.C Technique ‘On Trend’, to learn some hot tips for bringing runway looks to the street. M.A.C cosmetics are tested on the runway, then go straight to the counter.
MAC Pro Trainer Ocea Ferber translated runway make-up looks from the catwalks of Paris, Milan, London and New York into wearable make-up looks for us.
Left: the neon lipstick trend.
Here are some of her tips:
Tap your concealer in with a brush.
It is all about prepping the skin.
Brushes are big with M.A.C; invest in quality brushes.
When doing blush – feel the hollows with your fingertips and then put your colour there – cheeks and temples.
Use Pro Longwear Pencil to colour in the lips, then soften with a brush afterwards.
Another lip tip – make sure they are well moisturised, then put lipstick on, and THEN lip pencil if you have trouble getting the line right.
Applying a touch of gloss through the centre of your lip (over your lipstick) helps plumps up thin lips. Matt makes them look smaller.
