Iconic beauties Marisa Berenson, Pat Cleveland and Jerry Hall are immortalised on hand-drawn compact lids by fashion illustrator Antonio Lopez in this new M.A.C collection…
Antonio Lopez was a Puerto Rican-born artist, who tragically passed away from AIDS in 1987. Lopez was famous for his fashion illustrations in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, and many fashion magazines, and he discovered Jerry Hall (and lived with her in Paris), Jessica Lange, and Grace Jones.
His attitude and energy comes through in the colourful colour collection that is instantly recognisable for its lids – and I can tell will surely become collector’s items. The range includes 6 Eye Palettes ($106), 3 Lip Palettes ($82), and Face Palettes ($112) for highlighting natural tones and contours.
The ‘Antonio’s Girls’ used on the lids reunited for the release of this collection. Marisa Berenson, Pat Cleveland and Jerry Hall had their careers launched by Lopez, and now 26 years after his passing, pay tribute to their friend by fronting the collection imagery in its visual campaign.
