Thread attended the New Zealand launch of organic and Natrue certified Nvey Eco Makeup, held at the gorgeous new Dry & Tea salon in Auckland’s City Works Depot this week.
Beauty media were treated to makeup touch-ups and dry-styles by the Dry&Tea hairstylists after we heard about the Australian organic cosmetics brand nvey Eco.
The name itself came about with a chat with the owner’s friend late at night as a play on ‘envy’ and including the word ‘eco’ to show its natural origins. This is the key thing about nvey eco, it’s a high-end cosmetics line that doesn’t compromise on performance for the sake of natural ingredients. We heard in detail about the ingredient base (they don’t use palm oil or synthetics) and the distribution of the brand, which is to high-end spas rather than department store cosmetic floors.
It has quite a ‘pro’ aspect to it, and is used by professional makeup artists and freelance artists. The pricepoint is around that of MAC or Smashbox, with fluid foundation at $68, bronzers $67, lip colour $40, eyeshadow singles $39 and duos $64 and palettes of five colours $98. Makeup brushes are priced from $29 to $77. A hero product for nvey eco is their Erase concealer, at $40.
I’ll be having a play with the samples I was lucky enough to get and I’m wearing the nvey eco Lip Lustre gloss today, which has organic castor oil and beeswax. It’s certainly a nice way to take castor oil! One doesn’t want any nasties in your lipgloss or lipstick either as you ingest so much lipstick, and you know this is 100% natural (plus it isn’t at all sticky, and feels and looks great.)
For more info see their website www.nveyeco.com Here in New Zealand, you can buy nvey eco from selected beauty spas.
