CLARKS IN NZ AT HANNAHS
The Clarks shoes team from England was welcomed to New Zealand to Hannahs on Monday night at Shed 10 on Auckland’s waterfront, with a Maori haka and powhiri and hongi.
Models walked a runway showcasing the new Clarks season styles. One of the many styles we liked at the Clarks static display were the cute patent and leather Orla Kiely shoes that drew upon their heritage in these gorgeous retro styles that are so up to date now. THE FIFTH LABEL AT CO-OP
The CO-OP in Takapuna threw a great customer party and SS15 fashion show with hair by Morgan & Morgan and fashion by COOP and Fifth Label while we enjoyed Long White vodkas. Below: COOP designer Kayla Jurlina presenting SS15 at CO-OP boutique, 8 Northcroft Street Takapuna.

FANTASTIC FOUR
We enjoyed being at the premiere of Fantastic Four on Wednesday night. It was true to Marvel formula – action packed, big visual effects, some corny one-liners and a heartwarming story. Director Josh Trank’s original vision for the film was to develop the characters into being ‘over’ their powers, flipping the usual premise of super heroes on its head.
While I wouldn’t rate it as my favourite Marvel film, I was drawn in from the start by the the friendship formed by child genius Reed (Miles Teller) and fellow student Ben (Jamie Bell) who create a cobbled together teleportation device in Reed’s garage. Being a bit of a geek with engineering things myself, I also liked the technical drawings 3D mapping and creation of the real teleporter mid way through the film. The 2015 Josh Trank directed ‘Fantastic Four’ starring Miles Teller (Reed), Kate Mara (Sue), Jamie Bell (Ben), and Michael B. Jordan (Johnny), opened yesterday and looks like it’ll be really popular over the weekend. (Rebecca Zwitser for ThreadNZ)
BOBBI BROWN
We heard from Bobbi Brown’s Asia Pacific Artistic Director Kai Vinson at the Bobbi Brown flagship store in Britomart as he demonstrated the new Intensive Skin Serum Corrector and Concealer. A beautiful result; you use the Corrector if you have dark under your eye otherwise just the Concealer – I was also taken with their creme blushes.
MAC AW15 TRENDS
My Thursday is off to an awesome start, at the MAC AW15 Trends Workshop. MAC’s KieKie Stanners demonstrating a glossy vinyl red lip on Red11 model Amy, to beauty media.

THE MAN FROM UNCLE
The Man From UNCLE looks like such an awesome classic spy remake and it opens in NZ cinemas on August 13. I’ve got my Blunt umbrella and travel cup to keep warm this winter thanks to UNCLE!

NZ FASHION WEEK MODEL CASTING
So, how do models get chosen to walk in shows? If you’re a model aspiring to walk in New Zealand fashion week, your agency will attend the model casting about 3 weeks prior to NZ Fashion Week and designers can choose models to suit their individual shows as the men and women walk in front of the selection panel. The 2015 model casting was held today, 8th August, at Aotea Centre, and Anupam Singh of Annupam Photography attended for Thread.co.nz to shoot a documentary-style series to show you what it’s all about.
