What do you know about Amy Schumer? You may know her name from her first comedy series and from Comedy Central. This week, I’m excited that her second series is starting up which we can watch on Igloo TV here in New Zealand.
Inside Amy Schumer Series 2 features her fabulous scripted vignettes, as well as the classic stand-up comedy, and hilarious man-on-the-street interviews. It isn’t afraid to raise taboo subjects for the sake of comedy, in fact, the very first episode in season one last year was about Amy Schumer auditioning for an illicit Internet video; the aftermath of a one-night stand; and a regrettable airplane flight.
Good news is that the second season, unlike most difficult film sequels, is getting even better reviews than the first season. On Wikipedia it states “many critics favour the second season over the first. On Metacritic the show received a score of 65 from eight critics, while the second season holds a score of 74 from six critics.” It seems Amy Schumer has really found her feet, and her voice.
Schumer explores topics revolving around sex, relationships, and, in the vein of Seinfeld and countless other stand-up comedians, the confusing state we call ‘life’!
