A good vintage

An art installation told the stories of jazz muso Nathan Haines, Black Box’s Dan Gosling and Cloudy Bay’s Ian Morden at a creative collaboration at Starkwhite Gallery in KRoad on 5 July where vintage years from their lives were matched to wines from Cloudy Bay made in those years.

Canapes using flavours suggested as favourites of the three men were created by Masterchef’s Rob Trathen.

The event, titled ‘Define Your Vintage’, had the men recounting stories of their vintage years, which were accompanied by wines served from that vintage.

These included Dan’s wedding, and opening Black Box in The Department Store; Nathan’s path to success in the jazz scene in London and his performance with the NZSO; and Ian’s emigration from South Africa, in the same year as Cloudy Bay began.
