Who wouldn’t get excited by an invite to sample desserts?

Kermadec hosted Thread at a coffee and dessert experience in the heart of the Viaduct Harbour to sample Juan Balsani’s new desserts on 7th February.

The tasting started with a watermelon reduced to a tiny, rich red reduction on plate that resembled rare meat. Watermelon meat. This was followed by chilled Coconut Shell, Strawberry Frozen Espuma, Sambrirano Chocolate Mouse, and our favourite, Gin & Tonic Balloon.

The desserts were all a feast for the eyes; remarkably clever and quite intellectual in their construction. They are $18 each at Kermadec, Level 1, Viaduct Quay, cnr Quay and Hobson Streets in downtown Auckland.
